Political Ahwazi activist Ali Al-Mutairi was executed after several days of bring on hunger strike

Political Ahwazi activist Ali Al-Mutairi was executed after several days of bring on hunger strike and detaining in Sheiban prison, which has long history of housing Ahwazians political prisoners.

Al-Mutairi was arrested on the seventh day of May of 2018, after the Iranian security and intelligence forces raided on their house in Sheiban, an urban area of Ahwaz city. He was sentenced to death by the Iranian Revolutionary Court - one of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards institutions - on charges of "fighting God and the corruption on Earth".

Worth mentioning that these are charges that Ahwazi politicians face in the courts, especially political activists in Iran in general.

The Iranian Revolutionary Court, which is famous for its impartiality and lack of transparency, sentenced Ali Al-Mutairi to death without any fair, public and transparent trial and deprived him from hiring lawyer.

Ali Al-Mutairi was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture while in the secret prisons of the Iranian intelligence, especially after his transfer to Al-Ahwaz Central Prison (to Sheiban Prison) for several months.

Since the fifth of January, Ali Al-Mutairi has gone on hunger strike with a number of other prisoners, most of whom were sentenced to death later on (Jasim Al-Haidari, Ali Al-Khasraji, Hussein Al-Silawi, and Ali Moghadam) refusing the practice of physical and psychological torturing against them.

The death sentence was carried out inside Sheiban prison.

Al-Mutairi, 31 years old, was a boxing coach and has participated in a number of competitions in this field and won a number of awards.

The Ahwazi Organization for Human Rights(A.O.H.R) condemns the implementation of the death sentence against Ahwazi prisoners - politicians, calling on the United Nations Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and governmental and independent humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to save other Ahwazi prisoners that the Iranian authorities intend to carry out the death penalty against them in the upcoming days or weeks without any fair trial, which is a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws.
