The Alahwazi Organization for Human Rights (A.O.H.R) expresses its strong condemnation and deep concern regarding the recent escalation in arbitrary arrest campaigns and the policy of enforced disappearance practiced by the security authorities of the Iranian regime against Ahwazi civil and cultural activists.
In this statement, the organization documents two cases of arbitrary arrest and enforced disappearance that took place during June of the current year (2026) involving the activists Nabil Al-Khalidi and Mujahed Al-Sowari, who were taken to unknown locations without any legal justification. Below are the details of both cases:

Details of the Two Documented Cases

1. Case of Civil Activist: Nabil Al-Khalidi (Arrested in Asaluyeh)
* Identity and Background: Nabil Al-Khalidi, son of Ibrahim, 40 years old, married, and father of one son. Originally from the Kut Abdullah area in the city of Ahwaz, he was residing in the city of Asaluyeh for work.

* Arrest Details: He was summoned on Monday, June 23, 2026 (Tir 2, 1405) by the Intelligence Department of Asaluyeh County and was detained immediately upon his arrival.
* Current Status: Since his summons and detention, all news regarding him has been completely cut off. His family has received no official information concerning his place of detention, the nature of the charges against him, or his health and legal status, raising grave concerns for his safety and life.

2. Case of Civil and Cultural Activist: Mujahed Al-Sowari (Home Raid in Ahwaz)
* Identity and Background: Mujahed Al-Sowari, son of Jabbar, 37 years old, married, and father of four children. He was previously employed at Golestan Hospital in Ahwaz before being arbitrarily dismissed, which forced him to work as a taxi driver to support his family.
* Arrest Details: Intelligence security forces raided his home located in the Al-Mandali neighborhood of Ahvaz in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 22, 2026 (Tir 1, 1405). The sudden raid caused severe fear and panic among his children and family members, after which he was taken to an unknown location.
* Current Status: Up to the moment of issuing this statement, authorities continue to remain silent regarding Mujahed Al-Sowari's place of detention, the circumstances of his arrest, and the charges attributed to him.
The Alahwazi Organization for Human Rights considers these repeated practices, nighttime raids, and the policy of withholding information about detainees to be a blatant violation of international human rights conventions and declarations, particularly the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The continued detention of citizens and their transfer to unknown locations falls under the crime of enforced disappearance, placing their lives and physical and psychological integrity in severe danger.
Based on the above, the Alahwazi Organization for Human Rights (A.O.H.R) demands:
* The immediate and transparent disclosure of the detention locations of activists Nabil Al-Khalidi and Mujahed Al-Sowari, ensuring their physical and psychological safety.
* Allowing both detainees immediate communication with their families and granting them the right to legal representation for their defense.
* Their immediate and unconditional release, along with all civil and cultural activists detained due to their civil activities and pursuit of a decent livelihood.
* Calling upon the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran to shed light on these ongoing violations and exert international pressure to stop security abuses against Ahwazi citizens.
