14 Ahwazi Detainees Transferred to Sheiban Prison After 135 Days of Solitary Confinement and Severe Torture

The Alahwazi Organization for Human Rights (A.O.H.R) strongly condemns the systematic atrocities committed by Iranian security apparatuses in the Qalat Kanan district of Ahwaz. The Organization confirms that 14 Ahwazi Arab citizens were transferred on July 22 to the quarantine ward of Sheiban Prison following 4.5 months (135 days) of incommunicado solitary confinement at the Ministry of Intelligence detention center, where they endured extreme physical and mental torture aimed at extracting forced confessions.
These arrests stem from a violent raid on March 8 executed during an internet blackout. Security forces opened direct fire, killing at least two citizens whose bodies remain confiscated to date:
* Mahmoud Hasnian (Al-Naseri) (Son of Mohammad).
* Haidar Khayatipour.
Documented Identities of Detainees:
* Tawfiq Silawi (30 years old, Married)
* Mohammad Neisi (40 years old, Married)
* Hussein Silawi (20 years old, Single)
* Hamed Zoheiri (Single)
* Tariq Hasnian (Son of Rahi – Married, father of two infant daughters)
* Bahador Zorgani (39 years old, Son of Khodair – Married, father of 3)
* Mansour Naseri (40 years old, Son of Hadi – Married, father of 4)
* Ahmad Bawi-Fard (Son of Shahab)
* Youssef Hasnian (Son of Khalil)
* Amin Naseri (27 years old, Son of Adel – Married)
* Jassim Bawi (Milad) (Son of Mohammad)
* Mohammad-Ali Bawi (Son of Jaber)
* Hamid Hasnian (Son of Mohammad)
Fabricated Charges and Judicial Irregularities:
The defendants face fabricated charges before Branch 2 of the Karoun Revolutionary Court (presided over by Judge Montazeri), including "firing at security forces, bombing oil pipelines, possessing improvised explosives, and collaborating with the US and Israel." These charges mirror a Ministry of Intelligence press release from April and rely entirely on forced confessions extracted under coercion.
Violated International Legal Standards:
* International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR):
* Article 6: Absolute right to life; prohibitions on extrajudicial execution.
* Article 7: Strict ban on torture and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment.
* Articles 9 & 14: Right to personal security, fair trial, legal counsel, and invalidation of coerced statements.
* International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance:
* Articles 2 & 10: Criminalization of withholding deceased bodies and denying family contact.
Alahwazi Organization for Human Rights (A.O.H.R) demands the immediate release of the victims' bodies, the dropping of all fabricated charges, and the unconditional release of the 14 detainees.
