The Alahwazi Organization for Human Rights (A.O.H.R) strongly condemns the systematic enforced disappearance of Ahwazi civil and political activists by Iranian Ministry of Intelligence services. A.O.H.R records the recent transfer of former political prisoner Mohammad Jafar Armeshi (Hamid Jaderi) to Sheiban Central Prison in Ahwaz, following more than nine months of incommunicado detention and enforced disappearance in Intelligence detention facilities.
Mohammad Jafar Armeshi (known as Abu Tariq, 58 years old, son of Sabah, residing in the Al-Thawra district of Ahwaz) is a civil activist and former political prisoner who was previously incarcerated for six years (2011 to 2017) in Karoun and Sheiban prisons on fabricated charges including "acting against national security."
For the past nine months, his family was kept in total ignorance regarding his fate, location, physical condition, or legal status. Iranian authorities consistently refused to provide any information, raising severe concerns over potential physical and psychological torture aimed at coercing confessions.

* Articles 1 & 2: Strict prohibition of enforced disappearance under any circumstances, recognizing the family's right to know the truth regarding the detainee’s location.
* International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR):
* Article 7: Absolute prohibition of torture, or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment (including mental suffering inflicted by enforced disappearance).
* Article 9 (1, 2 & 4): Prohibition of arbitrary detention and the requirement of judicial oversight over the lawfulness of detention.
* Article 14 (3): Right to adequate time, legal counsel, and protection from forced self-incrimination.
* UN Body of Principles for the Protection of All Persons under Any Form of Detention or Imprisonment:
* Principles 15 & 16: Right of the detainee’s family to be informed immediately of the arrest and transfer.
A.O.H.R demands the immediate and unconditional release of Mohammad Jafar Armeshi, the dropping of all fabricated charges, and full accountability for those responsible for his enforced disappearance.
