The Alahwazi Organization for Human Rights (A.O.H.R) expresses grave concern and strong condemnation regarding a fresh wave of arbitrary arrests executed by Ministry of Intelligence agents on July 23. The campaign targeted 12 Ahwazi Arab Sunni religious and cultural activists across the cities of Abadan and Mashoor, transferring them to undisclosed locations.
Field reports confirm that security officers subjected the detainees to physical assault and beatings during their arrest. A.O.H.R has verified the identities of 7 detainees:
* Hassan Batrani (32 years old) – Abadan.
* Mehdi Batrani (41 years old) – Abadan.
* Mehdi Asakereh (20 years old) – Abadan.
* Amin Khanfari (22 years old) – Abadan.
* Hussein Khanfari (33 years old) – Abadan.
* Abdulhamid Simari (Abu Abdussalam) (50 years old) – Mashoor.
* Hatam Mansouri (46 years old) – Mashoor.
