Arrest of eight Ahwazi citizens, including a child, in the capital city of Al-Ahwaz

Headline: State Terror in Al-Ahwaz: Iranian Intelligence Raids Mesh’ali Neighborhood, Assaults Family, and Arbitrarily Detains 8 Citizens Including a Minor

The Alahwazi Organization for Human Rights (A.O.H.R) strongly condemns the violent raid and arbitrary detention of eight Ahwazi Arab citizens by Iranian intelligence forces in the Mesh’ali neighborhood of Al-Ahwaz city.
Without a judicial warrant, armed agents stormed the home of Majid Al-Sharifi (Al-Suwari), physically assaulted the occupants, confiscated personal property, and forcibly disappeared the detainees with blindfolds. Several individuals have been transferred to the quarantine facility of Al-Ahwaz Central Prison (Sheyban Prison), while Majid Al-Sharifi remains subjected to interrogation at the intelligence center. Severe concerns exist regarding the physical and psychological safety of 17-year-old minor, Arkan Al-Sharifi.
List of Detainees:
* Radhi Al-Haidari (50) | 2. Hussein Al-Haidari (29) | 3. Abdulhadi Al-Asakreh (30) | 4. Majid Al-Sharifi (44) | 5. Arkan Al-Sharifi (17, Minor) | 6. Lafta Al-Haidari (36) | 7. Hamzah Al-Sayyahi (34) | 8. Muhammad Al-Suwari.
Legal Assessment & International Law Violations:
These actions constitute a grave violation of international treaties ratified by Iran:
* Article 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) prohibiting arbitrary arrest and detention.
* Article 37 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) protecting minors against unlawful deprivation of liberty.
* Article 17 of the ICCPR guaranteeing protection against arbitrary interference with home and privacy.
A.O.H.R calls upon the UN Special Rapporteur on Iran and international human rights bodies to demand the immediate, unconditional release of all detainees
